Pick up truck export to the UK and other LHD countries: 11th October 2007

Expat Motors supplies all makes and models of new and used Thai assembled, Japanese brand pick up trucks to the UK, Ireland, and other right hand drive countries. We supply to traders or private individuals. We can supply extracabs and doublecabs with cabin heaters installed. We recommend you contact a recognized SVA testing company in the UK who can assist & deal with all import & registration procedures. Typical model report & SVA testing costs are approx £400-450. Pick-up trucks imported from Thailand to the UK are usually charged between 10-22% import duty on the vehicle's value plus 17.5% VAT. A good start in the UK is here: Bristol Motor Services

Freight to the UK can be done via roll on roll off transport ships (ro ro's) or via 20'/40' containers. Ro Ro's are the cheaper option at around 55,000 Baht and takes approximately 4-5 weeks to reach either Southampton or Bristol. Container transport is slightly more expensive, but more reliable and faster at around 4 weeks. A 20' container is approximately 80,000 Baht, and double for a 40' container (2 vehicles). We recommend container shipping, more reliable, and the vehicle is better protected against the elements. We ensure all vehicles are secured properly before shipping. "Hi-Cube" containers are available and can carry x3 trucks without canopies. Contact us with any questions regarding shipping and freight.

The Thai spec Nissan Navara is now available. It comes with a 2.5L turbo diesel engine, 174HP, 6 speed manual or 5 speed auto gearbox, twin airbags and all the usual extras you would expect. Export prices are 950,000 Baht for the top spec auto model, and 910,000 Baht for the top spec manual model. All 4 door doublecabs.

LHD Conversions are now available

Payment details: Payment is into our company account in Bangkok (Bangkok Bank), payment works as follows: Once we have your car in hand (usually after a few days) we'll send you an invoice including the engine/chassis numbers of your truck/car. We then require 40% initial payment into our company account of the total balance of the vehicle. Once the vehicle is on the ro ro/container after 3-4 weeks of your initial order we'll scan and email or fax you a copy of the Bill of Lading (BL) from the freight company, this is your guarantee that the goods are on the boat and on their way to you. We then require final payment plus freight costs. Once final payment is received we'll express mail (EMS) you the original BL to your home/business address. We will send you a receipt for each payment received if needed (total x2 payments = 40% + 60% + freight) All prices are final and in Thai Baht.

The whole process from start to finish, i.e. obtaining the vehicle, having the accessories fitted, taking care of local paperwork and shipping the truck usually takes 3-4 weeks. Another month in transit, so you'd receive your vehicle within 2 months of your initial order.
