Buying a large motorcycle in Thailand can be a tricky business. All these machines are imported, and buying used these vehicles can come in various states of registration. Some machines can be bought fully registered with legal plates and legal green registration book, others come invoices from their respective importers and have to then be registered legally with the Land Transport Department which can be a costly process, usually around 40,000-80,000 Baht.

New imported bikes are available from certain dealers, Yamaha, Kawazaki, Triumph, BMW, Ducati, and Harley Davidson are well represented. There are rumours that Honda and Suzuki will be opening official dealerships soon too!
